Kaylin's Busted Lip

Equation of the day:
2 hr. practice + 1 hard infield + 1 bad hop = 4 hrs. in ER.

Cause and Effect: We have had very little rain therefore the ground is relatively hard and softballs tend to take really strange and unexpected hops. Causing one softball player (Kaylin) to take a ball to the upper lip resulting in a very swollen mouth, cuts on the underside of her lips, and 3 stiches on the outside of her upper lip. All and all she was a real trooper. She didn't yell, scream, cry or show any kind of pain what so ever. The day after all of this happened she put a helmet on and got back out on the field as if nothing ever happened. That's our girl! Takes after her momma, "what a tough little cookie." We are praying for quick healing, her All Star team has their Regional Tourny in about 11 days. We need her behind the plate and at bat.

Awww, that's crazy! My girls would have passed out and required days of bedrest. Way to be tough Kaylin. Good luck on your tourny as well, can't wait to hear how you do!

FYI - I have not much to do but check blogs and fold laundry. Summer here is like winter to the midwest. It's too hot to go out and do anything. Occasionally we will make a trip to the pool, but for the most part, we just hang out inside. There are definitely no organized sporting activities going on right now! We do that in October.

I don't know you, but I found your blog through a comment you left on Laurie's blog, and I'm so glad I did! I have a sister who is in Germany for 3 years and I have been trying to get her to start a blog for at least a month now. I sent her the link to yours and showed her the cool stuff she could be posting, and her husband finally got one started for them! YEAH! And thank You!
